My First English journal Correction

A day trip to London

I and my sister took taxi to reach the Cambridge station. Then we hopped on a First Connect intercity train service for London.

We reached London in an hour, and then as soon as we reached the London station, we felt vibrancy of the city compared to sleepy Cambridge town.

Hoards of people were jumping in and out of the tubes (the Londoner intra-city trains), it just reminded me of local trains of Mumbai.

After bit of struggle to find right route, we of both boarded train to the Trafalgar square.

Outside the Trafalgar square, we found a agent selling tickets for a Hopin –Hopoff bus service.

We enquired the agent about the fastest way to reach the Buckingham palace because we thought that we are getting late to see the change of guard at the Buckingham palace.

He advised not to wait for the bus and rather walk towards the palace.

We walked 15 -20 mins but the place was not still in our sight. Finally, sister told me to take the cab. We waved our hands towards the on coming taxis but most of them were booked and were heading the palace.

Finally, a cab stopped and then we hopped on it. The taxis in London are black in color and their design is bit of vintage styled. I think the vintage design must be used to preserve the city’s vintage look.

We reached the Buckingham place and found that around 5000-6000 people were waiting to see the change of guards’ ceremony at the place. We found a place to stand that was giving nice view of the palace entrance.

The people were waiting to see some action .15 min, 20 min and 30 min passed by but there was no sign of any activity on the palace front entrance.

Finally, we thought that it was not going to take place. We went to one of the gates of the palace and saw a change of guard cancellation notice on 1x1 ft board. It just left us wondering why the heck they are skimping on notice board.

We felt that we should inform people that show is cancelled today, but there was no-way to inform crowd of 5000 thousand people. We just moved on to our next destination in the map.
